In the late nineteenth and early twentieth century, Mexico City experienced changes, such as expansion of the urban area - with the construction of colonies like Santa María de la Ribera -, and industrial development, besides need spaces, changed the social dynamics and urban landscape. This article analyzes these processes at the local level, to study the industrial building in the colony, between 1900 and 1930. Through the study of three representative cases, it is presented the characteristics of the factories that were established in this area in the period studied and the difficulties had to be included into a residential context.
