The railway architecture and its contribution to civil architecture in Mexico

Abstract

Since the introduction of the railway system in Mexico began a process of industrialization of the country that took a new turn in the form of people’s lives. But both had relationship with in the national architectural development. From the analysis of examples of railway in Mexico architecture, as well as the internal theories about context and constructive examples it is possible to establish that the civil architecture was influenced by the railway culture. New theories and approaches of construction which soon spread within the territory were established through innovative forms, materials and building systems. These advances led to that started an architectural ‘revolution’, that will consolidate almost 50 years later. This background add to the historical, economic and social data that analyze architectural porfirian urban growth.
