Urban intervention in the railway system of Aguascalientes to preserve the identity

Historical centers are characterized by hosting historical landmarks or sites which represent important ages for some cities. This text contains an approach to the railway history of the city of Aguascalientes, as well as, invites the reader to know the urban intervention that the most important railway system had in the nineteenth century. Under the hypothesis that the population identity to the railway remembrance has provoked a great interest in preserving them, adapting them form different purposes nowadays, thus sharing their history, the purpose of the article is to know the population and visitor’s identity toward the historical and cultural legacy of the railway era. The analysis was started from literature review, recognizing the importance of conserving and rescuing the identity of the heritage places; lately, there were performed some surveys to understand inhabitant’s perception about the railway system. The task done years ago by the State Government allowed some railroad workshops to become into recreational, sport and social spaces through the development and reconstruction of different spaces.
