Abstract

This collective work presents the scarcely addressed topic of the presence of the concept of landscape in
Mexican legislation. It begins with an introduction, by the book’s coordinators, which puts us in context about
the use of the term and its scarce presence in Mexican law, presenting possible explanations for this situation.
Through 10 chapters, eleven authors narrate their points of view on this landscape/legislation binomial from
different conceptual approaches: architecture, geography, heritage, ecology, law, to end with two examples of
specific initiatives such as the Landscape Catalogs of Catalonia and the Latin American Landscape Initiative.
