Abstract

In Mexico City on the last two decades, rehabilitation and reuse operations of buildings cataloged as historical architectural heritage have been increasingly frequent. Many of them have been built in 19th and 20th century historicist-style buildings whose history is unknown. Claiming the need to know the history of these buildings, this paper analyzes from a historical analysis perspective: Casa O'Hea, at Paseo de la Reforma, number 346. A magnificent example of civil neo-Gothic architecture of outstanding heritage value that recently (2010 -2016) was the subject of a complex rehabilitation operation for commercial purposes.
